Spider-Man Comic Sells For $1.1 Million

This near-mint copy of "Amazing Fantasy" No. 15, in which Spider-man makes his first appearance, sold recently for $1.1 million.

August 1960, with the comic book series scheduled for cancellation, but sales proved to be one of Marvel’s highest at the time and The Amazing Spider-Man was quickly launched.
